The Curious Case of the Talking Animals
Written by
Clifford Wan
Illustrated by
In a small town by a forest, Jack is known for his curiosity. One day, while
walking through the forest, he finds a group of different animals all sitting
together.
His curiosity sparks, and Jack goes over to them. He finds the animals can
talk! The animals tell Jack they have a magical way of talking with each
other, too. They use this power to help each other.
One night, they meet in the meadow. The animals tell Jack their stories.
Jack learns that the forest is getting smaller because people are chopping
it down. Jack learns that there are fewer and fewer places for animals to
live. Jack learns that the animals need help. Jack feels sad for the animals,
and he wants to help.
Jack promises to keep their secret safe and help the animals in any way
he can. He becomes their friend. Jack spends his days planting new trees.
He works to stop people from chopping down the forest.
By talking with the animals, Jack learns important lessons about the
wonders of nature.
