Read Write Inc. is a popular phonics scheme. It teaches children the sounds in English, the letters that represent them, and how to form the letters when writing. Read Write Inc. Phonics includes reading books written using only the letters they have learnt at each level (and a small number of separately taught tricky words). By enrolling your child on the RWI programme, your child will quickly feel confident and successful in both reading and writing.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The RWI programme includes interesting storybooks that match children’s learning progress and encourage them to tell the stories using their phonic knowledge. Fun writing exercises under each chapter also help children excel further and unleash their writing talent.

RWI vs English Ladder
Comparison table
RWI focuses heavily on developing phonics reading and writing skills during the early levels. After that, the RWI programme predominantly focuses on literacy, i.e. reading and creative writing. English Ladder complements RWI perfectly by supplementing areas that are missing. These areas include exposure to grammar topics and text types of EDB's Key Stages 1 and 2.
