1. The shoemaker and his wife are in their old shoe shop. They want to sell
lots of shoes. They need money to buy food and firewood, but there are
no customers. They are extremely sad and downcast.
Shoemaker: The shoe shop is freezing!
Shoemaker’s wife: There is no money for firewood.
Shoemaker: I’m starving!
Shoemaker’s wife: Me too! But we only have bread for dinner.

2. It’s midnight. Two kind elves visit the shoe shop. They decide to help the
shoemaker and his wife. They make stunning shoes to sell.
Elf 1: Look at these blue and gold shoes! Perfect for a party!
Elf 2: Look at these green boots! Perfect for a walk outside!

3. The shoemaker and his wife have a surprise! The shop looks totally different.
Shoemaker’s wife: Oh my! What beautiful shoes!
All shoes are sold. The shoemaker and his wife no longer suffer from cold
and hunger.
